Why students showing interest towards engineering:
Moreover every year more than one and half a million students are graduating as engineers. Why are most of the students choosing their careers as Engineers? Because it has the most probability to get employed easily when compared. But only 20% of the graduates are getting employed as expected. Because of lacking skills and knowledge, which is required by the employers.
What is the reason behind this ..?
Change that has been made in the curriculum of engineering:
“The educational system of our country is limited mostly to theoretical knowledge rather than Practical ability”. This is the main reason for the students for not getting employed even after graduating with impressive grades.
There aren’t many changes made in the curriculum so far. But, the improvements that are included such as, The credits are altered from 220 to 160 and declared 14 of them for summer internships. In order to make students get involved in the organizational functionalities during the time of graduating itself.
Practical abilities are being prioritized rather than theoretical education. Introducing of educating students on the latest technologies that are being used in corporate organizations to make students aware of working knowledge.
Most Importantly, Training students towards other aspects which are necessary at the corporate level such as communication and decision-making skills are also being included.
All these changes have been made in the curriculum of engineering for every three years based on the improvement of technology, employment opportunities and requirements of employers from the employees.
