The Decision which kept him alive

In a desert, there was a man. He lost his way and was searching for water for his survival. The man knew that if he didn’t get the water he would certainly die. He was completely exhausted but he didn’t give up the hope.

He kept looking for the water in the desert. Though he was tired, he kept walking in search of the water.

After some time he saw a hut at a long distance. He thought whether it is real or not. It can be a hut in reality or it may be a mirage. But he tried his luck as he didn’t have any other option. He went inside the hut and what he saw inside the hut made him overjoyed.

He saw a handpump there. In his excitement, he started thanking God. He becomes super excited to see the handpump. Now he could drink the water from the handpump and can live and will defeat death.

He uses all his energy to pump the handpump. But no water came out of it. He tried again and again but he couldn’t succeed. He uses all of his remaining energy in the hope to get water out of the handpump. But he all his efforts proved a failure.

He was exhausted. And gave up his hope. And accepted his defeat. He thought maybe it is what his destiny wants. He would die out of thirst this day. Maybe God wants this. He accepted his defeat and just lay down slowly.

Suddenly, a miracle happened and he saw a bottle filled with water having a piece of paper kept in a transparent container. He was overjoyed again and was so happy that he would now drink the water and will survive. But as he took the water bottle and just opened the cap. He saw the piece of paper attached to it. When he was just about to drink it so that he could quench his thirst. He noticed the paper and opened it.

“Pour the water into the pump and it will start and remember to fill it again after starting the pump.” The man read the note written on the paper.

Now he was in the dilemma of whether to drink the water and quench his thirst or to use that water to run the handpump and get lots of water. His one decision will decide whether he would be alive the next minute or not.

He was completely confused about what to do because if he uses the water to start the pump and pump didn’t start than he would lose the remaining water as well and will die of thirst.

Have you ever been in such a situation? Where there are only two options and uncertainty about which will work are high. The risk involved is high. What will you do if you would be in this situation? Ultimately you have to choose one and be ready for the consequences that it brings. Many people don’t decide and continue to be afraid of the results that it brings.

Well, the man took a chance, he prayed to God and poured the water inside the pump. With the ray of hope in his heart, he started the pumping. He closed his eyes and prayed to the lord and continued to pump.

Miracle happened! The handpump was running smoothly and the water came out of the pump. The eye of the man filled with tears. Although he was now going to live! The man drank the water and quenched his thirst.

He also saw a map of the desert and a pencil. He could now trace his location in the desert. Though he was still far away from the human colonies now he knew where to go and in which direction.

As written on the bottle he filled it again with the water. He also added in the note on the piece of paper ” Believe me it works” before leaving the hut.

All of us in our lives have to make decisions. Maybe the consequence of the decision may not cost our life in our cases mostly. Yet we all have our own journeys to take and our own decisions to make.

If the choices we make goes our way, it’s fantastic. We can inspire people by saying that “believe me it works”.

And if it doesn’t you can tell others about your mistakes, your realizations, your experiences and empower people to make the right choices.

Although each and every decision will teach you something and will you experience whether good or bad. So, don’t afraid to make decisions as someone said:

“I don’t waste my time on taking decisions, I just take them and then invest my time in making it right”.
