Why is it necessary for Parents to be aware of trends in Education. “What are the expectations of parents on the Education of their children..?” Every parent expects their child to be well aware of all the knowledge that are necessary for a bright career from the school stage itself. So that, it would be easy for the child to gain impressive grades in further standards.
“But… How do parents really Know that their children are getting educated as they expected on the modern and advance standards.” Parents should be conscious about trends in Educational field in which their children are involved in.
“In most of the Developed countries like America, Parents are involved in advisory for the teachers. Though, this is not practiced in India.” The schools do project their Educational methods to parents through programmes like “Parent-Teachers meeting”.
But, even this is being neglected due to busy lives of many parents. Most of the parents rarely are well aware of their child’s education. The teacher’s quality can be no more judged based on the student’s home work, The Parent’s no one concern should be “Whether my child getting a proper education to complete and thrive in our world?”. Selecting best school at corporate level based on its reputation for the child isn’t enough at all, Awareness of the educational method practiced should be known.
Moreover, gaining knowledge is the main aim besides, obtaining grades. But, judging the capability of a student only based on their grades isn’t fair at all.
Parents should know up to what extent their children are capable.
· Up to what level they are getting trained?
· What methods are they adopted to educate the students?
· What is the expectation of the Institution towards the students?
· Does they prior only based on their grades?, or making students develop their skills and knowledge?
All these factors must be monitored by the parents on their children.
It is very important to spend some time with the child on their educational practices and help them in different ways of learning rather than getting stuck to the books.
Some of the Trends which the Parents must be aware of are:
· Online learning
· Knowledge sharing
· Digital learning and
· Learning by doing.
Even though responsibility of teaching Educational Skills are on the Institutions, The Parents have a vital role in teaching child some of the skills such as Personality development and Ethical knowledge.
So, it is very important for a Parent to be well aware of trends in educational field.
